Public-Private Dialogue on Electromobility: Latin America -Asia

The webinar seeks to lay the foundations to promote the exchange of views between the national authorities and representatives of the private sector about the opportunities and challenges arising from public policies focused on fostering electromobility which are being developed in several countries of Latin America and Asia Pacific in order to meet the commitments undertaken by the States regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in public transportation. Among the challenges, there will be an analysis on the way the demand of solutions of electromobility in public transportation may promote the development of regional value chains in order to satisfy them, and, as a first contribution, technicians of the ECLAC will present the results of the application of a methodology aiming at identifying the different components of the value chains of electric buses, quantifying the importance of the inputs, and domestic value chains, and the participation of imported inputs, and the possibility of developing regional value chains.
