Invitation to course “Mainstreaming gender in international trade”,

The Latin America – Asia Pacific Observatory invites to participate in the course “Mainstreaming gender in international trade”, promoted by the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations of Chile (SUBREI) and the ALADI, with the support of member countries and international organizations, which seeks to train participants on the progress and challenges to mainstream gender in trade policy. With the participation of governmental experts and actors, two thematic blocks will be tackled: the first, focused on the actions of the World Trade Organization, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), and the ALADI, as well as the inclusion of chapters on gender in trade agreements; and the second, on the challenges and progresses in the generation of statistics of gender in foreign trade. In both thematic blocks diversity and quality of the participating lecturers will allow to know the situation about this important issue in the countries of the ALADI region and also in Asia Pacific. The course will be held virtually in synchronous sessions. The first thematic block will be held from 24 to 27 September, and the second, from 9 to 11 October. The course is free of charge and the vacancies are limited.
