MERCOSUR countries and their relation with Asian markets: strategies for the global integration
Within the framework of the Conference: MERCOSUR countries and their relation with Asian markets: strategies for the global integration, held on 12 November 2024, organized by UCU Business School, Department of Economy of FCS-UDELAR, and Programa Pharos de la ACADECO, Pedro Moncarz (Universidad de Córdoba - Argentina) and Sebastián Villano (UdelaR - Uruguay) presented an analysis of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for its current members and prospective new partners. Moncarz and Villano highlighted how this agreement projects as a deep integration model, whose economic benefits grow significantly in the long term. Besides, they emphasized the strategic importance of China as an engine of the effects of the agreement, and they highlighted that small countries like Uruguay could be great beneficiaries upon integrating into this scheme.
